Point Lonsdale SLSC is proud to offer training of the highest quality in the form of an intensive week-long training camp. The annual camp is intended to be an intensive and high pressure program to push you to your limits and train you to become a surf life saver.

The programs are designed to equip participants to a proficient standard in methods and techniques of Surf Lifesaving, including:

✓ Safety and Wellbeing

✓ Surf Awareness and skills

✓ Anatomy and Physiology

✓ Basic First Aid

✓ Basic Resuscitation

✓ Communications

✓ Rescue Techniques

✓ Patrols

You will then be expected to complete a minimum of 2 years of life saving and complete the minimum requirements of the Bronze Bond Requirements.

We do not want anyone to miss out because of financial circumstances. We provide subsidies and apply for community grants. If you would like to be considered for financial assistance, please see our financial assistance policy.

Application Considerations

Because of the limited spaces available, we are forced to cap the amount of available places. Because of this, PLSLSC has developed application considerations that give weight to the below criteria. Please try to keep them in mind when writing your application.

  • past involvement / connection to the Club;

  • future ability and willingness to Patrol and to be actively involved with the Club;

  • past involvement in the Nipper program;

  • attendance at the Cadet Camp (Bronze Camp only);

  • a positive past patrol attendance record (Bronze Camp only);

  • other members of their immediate family (ie. sibling / parent / guardian / child) being current members;

  • past involvement in Aquatic Sports (Surf Life Saving competition);

  • members of their extended family being current member;

  • residing in the Point Lonsdale / Bellarine area; and

  • having permanent accommodation available in the vicinity.
