Working With Children’s Check Information
If you are a club member aged over 17 years old at the beginning of each season and interact with children for club activities, you must have a Working With Children Check (WWCC) from the Department of Justice listing our club as an organisation for which you volunteer.
It is a legal requirement that the WWCC names Life Saving Victoria and Point Lonsdale SLSC as registered organisations. As volunteers, a WWCC check is free.
For more information see here, and the below tutorial.
Our club is affiliated with LSV and SLSA, and therefore adopts SLSA's published Member Protection Policy and Grievance Procedure.
This policy aims to assist SLSA to uphold its core values and create a safe, fair and inclusive environment for everyone associated with our organisation. It sets out our commitment to ensure that every person involved in our organisation is treated with respect and dignity and protected from discrimination, harassment and abuse. It also ensures that everyone involved in our organisation is aware of their legal and ethical rights and responsibilities, as well as the standards of behaviour expected of them.
More information can be found on the SLSA Member Protection Policy 6.05.
Point Lonsdale SLSC, Life Saving Victoria and Surf Life Saving Australia are dedicated to to ensuring all members are feel comfortable to raise their voice when there is an issue.
