Working With Children Check (WWCC)
At Point Lonsdale SLSC child safety is a priority. All members aged 18 and over (excluding Social members) must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) listing Point Lonsdale SLSC and Life Saving Victoria. This requirement includes all Active and Associate members, nipper parents and guardians. The WWCC is free for volunteers and valid for five years.
Your membership request will not be approved or renewed until WWCC information has been verified.
Already Have a WWCC?
If you already hold a WWCC through another organisation or as an employee, you only need to add Point Lonsdale SLSC and Life Saving Victoria to your list of organisations (see contact details in the WWCC Guide below). Click here to update your WWCC
Renewing an Expiring WWCC
If your WWCC is due to expire during the season, you can renew it up to six months before or three months after it expires. After three months, you will need to reapply. Click here to renew your WWCC
WWCC Verification
WWCC Applications - the Club will receive a WWCC assessment notice via email from the Department of Government Services. Early in the year, processing a new WWCC is quick, but from November, it can take up to four weeks due to increased demand. Please ensure you have nominated Point Lonsdale SLSC (correct address PO Box 120, Point Lonsdale 3225 and include email address office@plslsc.com.au) to prevent delays.
WWCC Renewals and Updates - the Club will receive a WWCC assessment Notice email from DGS the day after it has been renewed or updated.
IMPORTANT: Membership applications WILL NOT be processed until the Club receives verification of your WWCC from the Department of Government Services. You will be unable to register for any programs (including Nippers) without a finalised membership. Note that teachers and police officers are not exempt (teachers: refer to the WWCC Guide for steps on linking your VIT to WWCC).
WWCC Expiry - What to Expect
You will be notified directly by the Department of Government Services (DGS) around three months before your WWCC is due to expire by SMS, letter or email.
You must keep your contact details up to date so that you receive this important reminder.You will also receive reminders from the LSV Integrity team starting three months before your WWCC is due to expire, then monthly until it is renewed.
