What is a Family Group?

A Family Group is a management feature, not a membership category. A Family Group is a convenient way to manage multiple memberships under one account. It is a feature within the SLS Hub that allows one or two members (Primary Contacts - usually parents) to manage memberships for others in their family.

Primary Contacts can:

  • Renew memberships and make payments for family members

Primary Contacts cannot:

  • View patrol hours for Family Group members

  • Change a member’s sub-membership category

Each person in the Family Group still has their own individual membership and profile. If a family member needs to enrol in courses or access their own details, they will need to create their own SLS Hub account - this doesn’t affect how the Family Group is managed.

A Family Group can include:

  • Parents and Nippers

  • Parents and adult children

  • Social/Community members (e.g. partners)

If your Family Group includes a mix of member types (such as Nippers, Nipper parents, active adults over 21, or Social/Community members), the appropriate individual fees will need to be selected for each person.

Family Membership Fees
Families with parents and children or juniors (under 21) may be eligible for a family membership fee, where this is more cost-effective than paying individual fees.

Please note:

  • Adult-only Family Groups are not eligible for the family fee and individual membership fees must be selected

  • Social/Community members in Family Groups are not included in the family fee and individual fees must be selected

How do I create my own SLS Hub account?

If you haven’t yet created your SLS Hub account - or you’re part of a Family Group and want access to your own membership profile - you’ll need your own login to:

  • Enrol into LSV e-Learning for courses - your SLS Hub account details are the same details you use to login to the LSV Member Training Portal

  • Check your patrol hours

  • Access your personal membership details

To create your account:

  1. Go to the SLS Hub Sign In page

  2. Select ‘Sign Up’

  3. Choose a username and enter it in the Username field

  4. Select ‘Next’

  5. Enter your details and select ‘Sign Up’

    (Note: if you are a parent signing up yourself and your family, the SLS Hub account details entered should be in your name)

  6. Check your email for a verification code (the code will be sent to the email address you have submitted with your membership)

    • You can select ‘Re-send code’ after 30 seconds if needed

  7. Enter the code and select ‘Verify Code’

Your SLS Hub account is now created.

Final step:

  • Select the option that applies to you:

    • I am a current or past member of a club, or

    • I am a brand new member joining for the first time

You won’t be able to access your account until you’ve completed one of these options.

How do I change my membership category?

If you wish to change your membership category, a request must be submitted and approved BEFORE renewing your membership so that the correct fee can be selected.

To change your membership category:

  1. On your dashboard, click ‘View More’ under Memberships – Organisations.

  2. Click ‘Change Sub-Membership Category’.

  3. Select your new membership Sub-Category and submit request.

Please note:

  • If someone within your Family Group requires a membership category change, they must complete the process via their own SLS Hub account. The Primary Contact for the Family Group is unable to change it for them. The Club office can also change the membership category for you.

  • Each member within a Family Group can have their own account without affecting how the Family Group is managed

How do I apply for or renew my Social/Community membership?

Applying for or renewing a Social/Community membership follows the same process as any other club membership.

To join:
Click the Join or Renew your PLSLSC Membership button at the top of this page and follow the prompts.

To renew:
Follow the individual renewal steps outlined below. If you have set up a Family Group for you and your partner, refer to the Family Group renewal steps instead.

Please note, you must have an SLS Hub account to renew online. If you don’t yet have an account, follow the instructions above to create one. If you’re unsure, please contact the Club office for assistance.

How do I renew my INDIVIDUAL membership?

  1. Login to your SLS Hub account

  2. On your dashboard, click ‘View More’ under Memberships – Organisations.

  3. Click ‘Renew’.

  4. Select the season (2026/27 - after 1 July 2026) and tick the declaration → Next.

  5. Select your membership fee (if changing categories, do this before renewing).

  6. Tick any Add-on fees that apply → Next.

  7. Review your Order Summary and enter your credit card details.

  8. Click ‘Pay and Submit Request’.

Your renewal request will be sent to the Club. If there are no outstanding requirements (such as WWCC), you will receive your welcome email with your digital Member Card.

You can check the status of pending requests via your SLS Hub dashboard.

How do I renew my FAMILY GROUP?

  1. Login to your SLS Hub account

  2. On your dashboard, click the arrow next to your Family Group under Memberships – Family Groups. If you do not see a Family Group, contact the office to have them set one up for you.

  3. Select ‘Renew’.

  4. Select the season (2026/27 - after 1 July 2026) and tick the declaration → Next.

  5. Select your membership fee. If a Family Group has been created for a family of adults or Social/Community members, you cannot choose the family membership fee – you must select each individual membership fee.

  6. Tick any Add-on fees (such as the Nipper Levy or course fee) that apply → Next.

  7. Review your Order Summary and enter your credit card details.

  8. Click ‘Pay and Submit Request’. ‍

Your Family Group renewal will be sent to the Club. If there are no outstanding requirements (such as WWCC), you will receive your welcome email with your digital Member Card and (if applicable) the link to the Nipper Registration form.

How do I add a new member to my Family Group?

Do this AFTER submitting your Family Group renewal. Completing this step before renewing causes delays.

  1. On your dashboard, click the arrow next to your Family Group under Memberships – Family Groups.

  2. Select ‘Add Member’ from the button options.

  3. Follow the prompts to submit the new member application or add an existing member to the Family Group.

  4. This will come through to the office as a separate request.

How do I add a new member to my Family Group?

How do I request an INDIVIDUAL transfer to another Club?

  1. Log in to SLS Hub
    On your dashboard, go to ‘Memberships’ > ‘Organisations’ and click ‘View More’.

  2. Start the Transfer
    On the top right of your club membership summary page, click ‘Join/Transfer to a New Organisation’.

  3. Select the New Club

    • Choose the Club you are transferring to.

    • Select your competition status.

  4. Choose Transfer Type
    You’ll be asked:

    • Do you want to fully leave your current Club and transfer?

    • Or do you want to remain at your current Club and also join the new Club?

  5. Provide Transfer Details

    • Enter your reason for transferring.

    • Click Next.

  6. Confirm and Submit

    • Review your details.

    • Tick the declaration.

    • Click Submit. ‍

Important Note:

Your transfer is not immediate. It must go through the following approvals:

  • Endorsed by your current Club

  • Approved by Life Saving Victoria

  • Accepted by the new Club

This process may take a few days to be finalised.

How do I request an INDIVIDUAL transfer to another Club?

  1. Log in to SLS Hub
    On your dashboard, go to ‘Memberships’ > ‘Organisations’ and click ‘View More’.

  2. Start the Transfer
    On the top right of your club membership summary page, click ‘Join/Transfer to a New Organisation’.

  3. Select the New Club

    • Choose the Club you are transferring to.

    • Select your competition status.

  4. Choose Transfer Type
    You’ll be asked:

    • Do you want to fully leave your current Club and transfer?

    • Or do you want to remain at your current Club and also join the new Club?

  5. Provide Transfer Details

    • Enter your reason for transferring.

    • Click Next.

  6. Confirm and Submit

    • Review your details.

    • Tick the declaration.

    • Click Submit. ‍

Important Note:

Your transfer is not immediate. It must go through the following approvals:

  • Endorsed by your current Club

  • Approved by Life Saving Victoria

How do I request a FAMILY GROUP transfer to another Club?

  1. Log in to SLS Hub
    On your dashboard, go to ‘Family Groups’ and click >.

  2. Start the Transfer
    On your Family Group page click ‘Join/Transfer to a New Organisation’.

  3. Select the New Club

    • Choose the Club you are transferring to.

    • Tick each family member you wish to transfer. Unticked members will not be included in your transfer request.

  4. Choose Transfer Type for each family member
    Full Transfer: leave current club and join new club

    Competition Rights Transfer: Dual membership with competition rights at new club

    Non-Competition Rights Transfer: Dual membership with competition rights remaining at your current club

  5. Provide Transfer Details

    • Enter your reason for transferring.

    • Click Next.

  6. Confirm and Submit

    • Review each person’s details and update if applicable.

    • Tick the declaration.

    • Click Submit.

Important Note: If you have NOT already created a Family Group, each family member will need to be transferred individually.

To avoid this, please contact your Club before starting the transfer process so they can help create a Family Group for you. This will make transferring all members much easier.

Note:

Your transfer is not immediate. It must go through the following approvals:

  • Endorsed by your current Club

  • Approved by Life Saving Victoria

  • Accepted by the new Club

This process may take a few days to be finalised.
