Membership FAQs

What is a Family Group?

A Family Group is a management feature, not a membership category. It allows one or two members (Primary Contacts - usually parents) to manage multiple individual memberships through their own SLS Hub account.

Primary Contacts can:

  • Renew memberships and make payments for family members

However, they cannot:

  • View patrol hours for Family Group members

  • Change a Family Group member’s sub-membership category

Each individual still has their own separate membership profile. If a family member needs to enrol in LSV courses or access their own membership details, they must have their own SLS Hub account, but this does not affect how the Family Group is managed.

Family Membership Fees
Families with parents and children (or juniors under 21) may be eligible for a family membership fee, where this is more cost-effective than paying individual fees.

Please note:

  • Adult-only Family Groups are not eligible for the family fee and individual membership fees must be paid

  • Social/Community members in Family Groups are not included in the family fee and individual fees must be paid

‍ ‍

How do I change my membership category.

If you wish to change your membership category, this must be done BEFORE renewing your membership so that the correct fee can be selected.

To change your membership category:

  1. On your dashboard, click ‘View More’ under Memberships – Organisations.

  2. Click ‘Change Sub-Membership Category’.

  3. Select your new membership Sub-Category and submit request.

Please note:

  • If someone in your Family Group needs to change their membership category, they must have their own SLS Hub account to complete this process. The Primary Contact cannot change it for them via the Primary Contacts SLS Hub account.

  • Each member within a Family Group can have their own account without affecting how the Family Group is managed
