DR TONY HODDER
The Club is delighted our longstanding member Tony Hodder has been awarded the Emergency Services Medal(*) as part of the Australia Day 2025 Honours List. Tony has been a significant force in Surf Life Saving for more than 45 years and has held key positions in Venus Bay SLSC, Ocean Grove SLSC and Point Lonsdale SLSC. He served the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service for 6 years and currently serves the CFA as an operational air observer – a role he has held for 30 years. Tony has been personally involved in a number of dangerous and difficult rescues in conjunction with other Emergency Service organisations. He was heavily involved in the establishment of Point Lonsdale’s LERT and has made outstanding contributions as Bellarine District Supervisor responsible for management of operational aspects of Surf Lifesaving Clubs in the Bellarine District. Tony continues to serve as a dedicated and influential member of the lifesaving community. He was awarded Life Membership of Life Saving Victoria in 2024. We are very proud and fortunate to have Tony as part of our Club.
