Starfish Nippers

Starfish Nippers

Starfish Nippers caters for children and young adults aged 7-18 with Special Needs - including autism, attention deficit disorder, Down's syndrome, Asperger's Syndrome, physical and intellectual disabilities and learning difficulties. We believe everyone deserves access to Nippers and our Point Lonsdale Nippers has been greatly enhanced by the addition of the Starfish program.

Activities for our Starfish Nippers include the traditional beach games and activities, beach running, beach flags, swimming, board skills, water familiarisation, beach, water and surf safety. We have an instructor for every Starfish Nipper, at a ratio of 1:1 for water skills, and 1:2 for beach activities. This ensures the program can be specially tailored to meet individual needs and skill levels in and out of the water, with positive instruction and encouragement along the way. However, we do ask that a parent or carer should be on the beach at all times while the session is being run, in case additional assistance is required.

Please refer to the link to the promotional video to get a greater understanding of the Starfish Nippers program that was held at Anglesea in 2012-2013 or go to the website www.starfishnippers.com.au

Starfish Nippers sessions will be conducted from 9:30-11.30 am on the same days as our existing Nippers program.
