Adult Bronze Medallion (ABM)

About: You will learn CPR, basic First Aid as well as rescue techniques using a Tube and Rescue Board.

Prerequisites: 17+

 

Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) and Junior Bronze Medallion (JBM)

About: You will learn CPR, basic First Aid as well as rescue techniques using a Tube and Rescue Board.

Prerequisites: SRC 13+ / Junior Bronze 15+

 

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques and First Aid (ART/FA)

About ART: The role of an ART is to provide advanced life support to a patient. You will learn how to use an oxygen kit.

About FA: First Aid training teaches you to recognise and respond appropriately to an emergency.

The skills are easy to learn and invaluable to have, whether in the home, at work, in the street, the sporting field or elsewhere. Even basic skills can, at times, be lifesaving and the rewards are immense, especially if the casualty is a family member or friend.

Prerequisites: 15+

 

Side by Side Vehicle Operator (SSV)

About: Side-By-Side Vehicles are valuable resources utilised during Life Saving activities.

The SSV assists Lifesavers to transport equipment, tow IRB’s and provide members with the ability to traverse long distances on sand and other terrain types.

Prerequisites: Bronze/Current Drivers Licence/18+

 

Resuscitation (CPR)

About: CPR certificate is no longer included in Bronze. You will learn how to perform CPR.

Prerequisites: 12+ 

 

Silver Medallion Patrol Captain (SMPC)

About: Provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and experience to manage a beach in emergency and non-emergency situations. This course is a patrol requirement and recommended for all Patrol Captains

Prerequisites: Bronze, 17+ and 2 years patrolling experience

 

Training Officer Certificate (TOC)

About: The Training Officer Certificate provides participants with the skills and knowledge to deliver training programs.

This is an LSV run course only.

 Prerequisites: Bronze, 17+

IRB Crew

About: The aim of the IRB Crew Certificate is to gain the knowledge and skills to effectively crew an IRB in surf operations.

Prerequisites: Bronze

IRB Driver

About: The aim of the IRB Driver Certificate is to gain the knowledge and skills to effectively crew an IRB in surf operations.

Participants will also develop the knowledge and skills to enable them to demonstrate competence in:

  • Managing IRB equipment

  • Preparing and driving the IRB

  • Driving IRB for rescues and emergency situations

  • IRB towing

  • Working as a team
