Skills Maintenance (Requal) 2021/22

Welcome back for season 21/22 Active Members!

As you may be aware, our annual Skills Maintenance (Re-qualification) sessions are coming up!

All Bronze Medallion and Surf Rescue Certificate holders MUST complete reaqual to patrol, assist with Nippers, the Rip View Swim or our camps.

What is requal and what does it mean?

Each year, surf life savers are expected to undergo skills maintenance for the awards we hold so that we're confident in our abilities to keep ourselves, our fellow members and the public safe during the season.

It is mandatory to attend skills maintenance if you plan to return to the club this season. If it is not completed, you will not be able to patrol or assist with water safety.

Awards that require skills maintenance each year are:

  • Bronze Medallion/Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC)

  • IRB Driver/Crew

  • Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue (SMAR)

  • ATV Operator Certificate

  • Rescue Water Craft (Jet Ski) Operator (RWC)

When is it?

Skills maintenance sessions will run on the 27th and 28th of November and 11th and 12th of December. You only need to complete one session to requalify.

The sessions will run for approximately an hour. Members can also book into sessions at other clubs and in Melbourne.

YOU MUST BOOK INTO A SESSION: mt.lsv.com.au

Anyone that arrives without booking into a session will be turned away due to LSV's strict COVID-19 policies.
